I am a writer and curator living in Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland, and working as the Assistant Director of ST PAUL St Gallery, Auckland University of Technology. I am a Masters graduate of Elam School of Fine Arts, the University of Auckland, where I was formerly employed as a Teaching Fellow. I am an occasional performer of Indian classical music and a long term student of Pandit Rajendra Kandalgaonkar, as well as a student of Sensei Amala Wrightson in Zen. My wife Erena Shingade is a poet; my brother Bala Murali Shingade is film maker.
